Terms of Service

1. Eligibility and Accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering a binding contract to purchase, bid, sell, or go live on Snatch Live.
• You authenticate via mobile phone number and a secure one-time SMS verification code (OTP). You are responsible for safeguarding your device and SIM card.
• One person, one account. Accounts are personal and non-transferable.
• You must provide accurate delivery information to ensure prompt courier fulfillment.

2. What Snatch Live Is

Snatch Live is an interactive, real-time live-video marketplace for physical goods. Independent verified sellers ("Hosts") present merchandise to buyers via interactive video streams, replays, and short shoppable drops.

Unless an item is explicitly marked as sold directly by Snatch Live, the underlying contract of sale is between the buyer and the Host. Snatch Live provides the technology platform, secure payment facilitation via Paystack, automated logistics coordination, escrow protection, and dispute resolution.

3. Fixed-Price Drops & Interactive Mechanics

• Pricing: All prices are displayed in South African Rand (ZAR) and include applicable VAT plus stated delivery fees.
• Price Drops: In special Price Drop events, the price of an item decreases dynamically as more viewers enter the live stream. The price you pay is locked at the exact millisecond you confirm checkout. Subsequent price drops do not qualify for retroactive adjustments.
• Flash Drops: Stock synced from partner retail stores is subject to in-store priority. If an item sells at a physical store counter prior to digital payment confirmation, the digital listing is automatically withdrawn and any captured funds are refunded immediately.

4. Payments & Zero Digital Goods

• All transactions are processed securely via Paystack using debit/credit cards or Instant EFT. Snatch Live never accesses or stores credit card numbers, CVVs, or bank credentials.
• Snatch Live sells physical goods exclusively. There are no paid virtual currencies, loot boxes, digital subscriptions, or digital gifts. Physical retail purchases are exempt from Apple In-App Purchase rules (App Store Guideline 3.1.5).

5. Live Auctions — Binding Bids & Anti-Snipe

• When the countdown timer hits zero, the highest valid bid wins. Payment is collected automatically via the winning bidder's authorized payment method.
• Anti-Snipe Protection: Any bid placed within the final 30 seconds of an auction extends the timer by 30 seconds to allow competing bidders fair opportunity to respond, preventing algorithmic sniping.
• Zero Shill Bidding: Hosts are strictly prohibited from bidding on their own listings or coordinating bids. Accounts engaging in artificial bid inflation will be permanently terminated and reported to law enforcement where applicable.
• Auctions are authentic commercial transactions for physical goods, not games of chance or simulated gambling.

6. Escrow Protection & Buyer Guarantee

To protect buyers and sellers, all transaction funds are held in secure escrow upon payment authorization.

• Funds are released to the seller only after confirmed delivery by our courier logistics partners (e.g. Courier Guy, RAM, Skynet) and expiry of a 48-hour buyer inspection window.
• If an item is damaged, defective, counterfeit, or fails to arrive, the buyer can initiate a dispute in-app within 7 days. Escrowed funds remain frozen until Snatch Live completes independent inspection.
• Statutory rights under the South African Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (including the 6-month implied warranty of quality) and ECTA remain fully preserved.

7. Snatch Coins (Loyalty & Rewards)

• Snatch Coins are strictly earn-only loyalty points accumulated through engagement (watching streams, participating in community chat, and referring verified friends).
• No Cash Value: Snatch Coins cannot be purchased with fiat money, cannot be traded, transferred, or exchanged for cash or cryptocurrencies.
• Coins can be redeemed exclusively for platform vouchers (e.g. 10% off shipping or discounts on future physical orders) or cosmetic community badges.

8. Prohibited Conduct & Content Moderation

We maintain zero tolerance for illegal, abusive, or deceptive behavior. Users must not:

• Stream or upload sexually explicit content, violence, harassment, or hate speech.
• List counterfeit goods, narcotics, weapons, stolen property, or unauthorized medications.
• Attempt off-platform transactions to circumvent escrow protections or service fees.
• Manipulate automated bidding, chats, or referral incentives using automated bots or scrapers.

Streams and chats are monitored by automated filtering systems and real-time human moderation. Community members may report any stream, seller, or comment via in-app reporting tools.

9. Account Deletion & Termination

You may terminate your account at any time directly through the mobile app (Settings > Delete Account) or via our self-service Account Deletion Portal. Outstanding delivery obligations or active escrow disputes must be concluded prior to permanent purge.
